iniBuilds have taken to their forum page to provide a thorough development update on their aircraft portfolio for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This also includes the announcement of the previously teased A340. The developer provides insight on their upcoming releases, as well as a recap of updates to their A350 Airliner product.
iniBuilds Announces the A340 for MSFS 2024
Most notable in the update, is the team announcing that they are indeed working on the A340 Airliner, available exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The long-haul quad-engine widebody aims to build on the progress the team have made through the development cycles of their A300-600R and A350. The aircraft was previously teased in the A350 ULR update video.
iniBuilds state that development is well underway and make clear that the aircraft will be the A340-313 variant utilizing the CFM56-5C4 engine variant – “the most engine thrust available for this variant and engine type”. The developer goes on to share that three variants will be available: the A340 passenger variant, the “Preighter” variant (converted passenger variant for freighter operations) and the Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ Luxury configuration). All variants are contained in one purchase and intended for release on both PC and Xbox.

In the coming weeks, it’s expected that the team will share in-depth previews, showcasing systems, features and audio, the latter of which is being developed in collaboration with Echo19 Audio. The post also hints at the development of more than one cockpit being available, with reference to the CRT type screens. A deeper dive into the cockpits is expected in the next few weeks.
Present Key Aircraft Development Updates
The team also provided a summary of their recent releases, including the popular A350 Airliner, followed by the Spartan 7W Executive and the F406 Caravan II. Updates to the A350 were summarized, with the most recent ones bringing critical bug fixes and promised features such as the Heads-Up Display and Ultra Long Range variant of the A350-900 to the product.
The team also covers the launch of the A350 for the MSFS 2024 Xbox platform, however, the release for the MSFS 2020 Xbox build remains on hold. In addition, the development update addresses the actions being taken to eliminate WASM issues on the sim platform. A dedicated WASM testing group has been formed on their Discord server. Users are encouraged to join the server to share valuable feedback.
Future Projects
Whilst the team reiterate their focus on the A350 and A340 Airliner, they do also mention the A380 Airliner and that work continues on that front. The team recently gained exclusive access to a full-motion A380 simulator, allowing them to collect large amounts of data, system behavior data, cockpit measurements, and other real-world procedural elements. This data was then bolstered by the opportunity to visit an aircraft in storage, helping them to deliver a simulator experience that matches the depth and realism of the real-world counterpart.

Closing Notes
iniBuilds go on to make a call to action for A340 and A380 pilots, as well as those who fly a variety of aircraft in real life, prompting them to reach out to the team to help provide valuable insights. The team go on to thank the community, reiterating their dedication to refining existing products and bringing in-development projects to life.
