iniBuilds Announces Ilulissat BGJN for MSFS 2024

iniBuilds announces Ilulissat Airport (BGJN) in Greenland for MSFS 2024, with LiDAR terrain, custom icebergs and landmarks. No price or date yet.

iniBuilds has announced Ilulissat Airport (BGJN) in Greenland for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The developer revealed the scenery in a post on its forum, presenting it as a destination for the winter flying season.

Ilulissat lies on Greenland’s west coast, overlooking Disko Bay. The town is best known for the nearby Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its airport is a regional gateway served mainly by turboprop flights within Greenland. Its remote Arctic setting, changing weather and icy surroundings make it an unusual choice compared with the busy hubs that dominate most scenery releases. The announcement follows iniBuilds’ earlier reveal of New Orleans KMSY for the same simulator.

According to iniBuilds, the scenery was developed in close cooperation with the real airport. The team says the terrain is built from drone-captured aerial imagery and high-resolution LiDAR scan data, which allows it to reproduce the runway’s real-world slope. The airport also has bespoke ground textures, detailed buildings with interiors, custom taxiway signs and fully custom lighting for approach, runway and taxiway.

Beyond the airfield, iniBuilds has added custom city autogen for Ilulissat and individually modelled landmarks, including the Icefjord Centre, Zion Church and Ilulissat Harbour, along with local hotels. The surrounding waters hold custom-made icebergs, and the scenery shows authentic winter snow coverage. The developer also mentions Easter eggs to find, models optimised with Level of Detail (LOD), and an included GSX profile by Elton Hjalmarsson of RW Profiles.

iniBuilds suggests using the airport for scheduled regional services, supply deliveries or light-aircraft flights along the coast, noting that the weather and remote location make planning part of the experience.

Neither a price nor a release date has been announced yet, and iniBuilds only says to stay tuned for further details.
