Microsoft Flight Simulator Development Update (8.10)

Microsoft Flight Simulator Team has taken to their official website to share a new development update focusing this time on the VR Closed Beta, new Partnership Series, an SDK update, and on the upcoming patch.

First of all, VR Closed Beta status. The sign up for beta has been opened for a week now and, the MSFS Team is currently evaluating the specs and making decisions about who will be part of the testing. We should get more information once the emails have been sent to the participating testers.

As mentioned earlier, some information was shared regarding the upcoming patch. Based on the post, the patch is expected to be released on October 13th, and will bring bug fixes, and updated navigation data, user interface, aerodynamics, activity and world. The complete patch notes will be known once the patch is released. For now, the patch notes from todays post can be seen below.

An update on the SDK status has been made. Based on that, the work is progressing on the Project Editor. Furthermore, the Aircraft Editor is being improved based on community feedback. Scenery Editor will receive general stability improvements while the team keeps making progress on the Nodal Visual System that should be ready for production soon. WebAssembly is also being improved while the FsPackageTool is being fixed for users of the Steam version of the simulator.

While Gaya Simulations was the part of the last Partnership Series, today it was Aerosoft. It is highly recommended to watch the video yourself. Aerosoft has confirmed in the video, that Brussels Airport, Munich Airport, Hamburg Airport, Cologne Airport, Barcelona Airport, and many more are coming to the simulator. Certain parts of the video are even showcasing the interior and exterior of the upcoming CRJ-700.

There are currently over 1000 application in the Marketplace Partner Program of which 200 are from known companies. Over 50 partners have been already approved and have their content on the Marketplace.

With over three dozen airports and aircraft published in the first 6 weeks since the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, the quality of the creations and the incredible enthusiasm of the creator community continue to exceed all our expectations.

Five new products have also been released on the Marketplace today: Pilot Plus Wycombe Air Park, Verticalsim Norfolk International Airport, and Sierrasim Simulation La Nubia Airport, Jose Joaquin de Olmed and Antonio Narino Airport.
