Microsoft Flight Simulator Sim Update 15 Delayed… Again

The long-awaited Sim Update 15 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has once again been delayed, with no new release date given in the announcement post. While Sim Update 15 was originally scheduled for release on March 12th, it was delayed to March 26th, then April 30th, then May 7th, and now to an unknown date.

Sim Update 15 is expected to be the last Sim Update of the year, with SU16 coming after the release of MSFS2024, in early 2025. SU15 will include many new features and improvements, such as Working Title’s Garmin G3X overhaul, iniBuilds’ new A320 neo, improvements to AI traffic, a new ground physics system, numerous memory and performance improvements, and more.

The reason given for the delay of SU15 is due to some new issues discovered in the previous beta build of the update that gave Xbox users a lot of problems with WASM and sim performance. A new beta build has now been released that aims to tackle these issues, however, Asobo is still dealing with some of the stuttering and freezing on Xbox and suggests that those using the beta on Xbox enable rolling cache to reduce the chances of encountering stuttering and freezing during flights.

Asobo aims to have a fix for the stuttering/freezing issues on Xbox next week, meaning that SU15’s delay will likely last two weeks or more. Since the new release date of SU15 is unknown, it’s unlikely that it will be further delayed, however, we will be sure to let you know of the latest developments regarding SU15 and its release.
