Honoring the centenary of German flag carrier Lufthansa, Microsoft has announced a set of highly detailed liveries, recreating the airline’s already iconic special anniversary colorway in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
To celebrate its important milestone in 2026, Lufthansa has selected and painted six representative aircraft, including the 787, A320neo, A350, A380, and 747-8 in a striking dark blue, with their iconic white crane spanning almost the entire fuselages.

Fresh Paint for New and Old
The post on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator website contains a number of striking images recreating Lufthansa’s own promotion media with the six commemorative planes in formation.
Although not specified in the announcement post, the shared images depict the six aircraft types of their real life counterparts, including the Airbus A380, presumably the yet-to-be-released iniBuilds model.

Lufthansa was founded in Berlin in 1926 as Deutsche Luft Hansa and operates in its current form since it was reinstated after World War II in 1953. It is the largest operator of passenger 747s with 26 aircraft and was a launch customer for the Airbus A380.
While the announcement does not mention an official release date, it invites users to celebrate this important milestone for one of the most iconic and widely flown airlines in flight simulation, coming to MSFS2024 “soon”. FSNews has covered the development of the upcoming iniBuilds Airbus A380 previously and continues to report on the project as it nears its completion.
