Flight simmers interested in taking their flying off the beaten path can now explore four of California’s rather more rustic airstrips with the first installment of a new series of sceneries to be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator, called Lost Landings and offered by Orbx. Created by The Attic Flyer Studio for MSFS24, the inaugural pack includes four unique and highly detailed airstrips, whose real-world counterparts have long been in disuse.
The Lost Landings series is set to highlight exciting and abandoned rural airfields, inviting flight simmers to dive into the more adventurous side of the hobby and challenging them to look beyond the busy tarmac of major airports and discover a different kind of quality in scenery.
The four airstrips included and their locations are:
US-3397 Lake Mountain Landing Strip [40.021280, -123.403670]
US-6578 Kettempom Airport [40.160899, -123.463819]
45CL Hell’er High Water Airport [40.141418, -123.399167]
US-3980 Carter Creek Airstrip [40.169015, -123.562262]
Each of the four airfields feature highly detailed hangars with full interiors and animated hangar doors, and rich, custom biomes and vegetation surrounding the field. Orbx also states that no AI was used in the scenery.
The Lost Landings California Pack 1 is available via Orbx Central for around €10.
