Orbx Releases Massive Gothenburg Landvetter Airport Update For MSFS

A considerable update to Orbx’s Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (ICAO: ESGG) has now been issued for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS), according to an informational post on the official Orbx forums.

The update (version number: 1.2.0) itself aims to offer a number of quality-of-life enhancements and major additions to the scenery, originally released in October 2020.

Gothenburg Landvetter Enhancements

In the accompanying changelog, it is clear that simmers will be able to notice a slew of changes that will greatly improve their experience at the airport, of which includes animated jetways, correct VDGS (visual docking guidance system) for parking spots (assuming the real-world gate has them), animated airside traffic, and numerous texture improvements both on the ground and in the surrounding airport buildings.

Environmental ambiance is also refined, and simmers can now expect to see snow plows out on the field when it’s snowing; and snowbanks will even appear if the conditions call for it in the winter months.

A number of other changes have been included in this update, including the addition of ground service equipment and general clutter on the ground for maximum realism. For users of GSX, a profile is now included in this release, as is a control panel which will allow for the control of static aircraft, snowbanks, clutter, and other animations.

Keeping Up With Real-World Changes at Gothenburg

Since the scenery’s release in 2020, a number of real-world changes have taken place at the airport, and as such, update 1.2.0 aims to keep things up to date.
