PMDG Development Update [5th Aug 2021]

In this development update, CEO of PMDG Robert Randazzo talked about the Sim Update 5 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, an update of the DC-6 and the stage of development of PMDG 737 NG3. The development update has been shared, as usual, through their forums.

In the first section of the forum post, Randazzo talked about the new build of DC-6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. In patch 2.00.0036 we can find some minor bug fixes, such as pink door frames on DC6A after the update, the navigation and beacon lights that weren’t working after the update were fixed as well, and more. The update is now available through PMDG Operations Center.

The second part of the development update spoke about the stage of PMDG 737 NG3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Right now, the aircraft is 75% complete, it was meant to be sent to beta testers on August 1st, but as the Sim Update 5 went out, the developer had to delay it. PMDG now sees progress on the 737 once again.

Furthermore, the PMDG 737 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is not the only thing that is in the works of PMDG. Their rendition of 747, 777 and 737 for Prepar3D will get an update as well, as the new, reworked LNAV and flight directors, this will be a complete overhaul after using 12-year-old technology for these particular systems of the aircraft, the developer said. The update should come to the 747 first, then, a little later, 737 and 777 will get their LNAV and FD updates as well. These updates will be for all customers owning these aircraft for free. The navdata updating process should go through rework as well.

And last but not least, Randazzo has stated that as the 24th birthday of the company approaches on August 7th, there is going to be a sale with 24% off all products of PMDG.
