The developer SimNord has released their new rendition of the largest airport in Denmark – Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (EKCH) for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The release has been announced via the developer’s Facebook page and other social media platforms.
About Copenhagen Airport (EKCH)
Copenhagen Airport is, as mentioned, the largest international airport in Denmark, and in 2024, it served almost 30 million passengers. The airport opened in 1925, making it one of the oldest hubs in Europe. During World War II, the airport closed its civil operations, and luckily remained untouched during the war. When Scandinavian Airlines was founded in 1947, Copenhagen Airport became the main hub for this carrier.

Copenhagen Airport is equipped with two passenger terminals, divided into various concourses, and there are three main runways, out of which only the two parallel 04/22 runways are used due to the airport’s close proximity to the city centre. During the approach, passengers can enjoy the views of the nearby wind power plant and the Oresund bridge to Sweden.
Features of SimNord EKCH
The developer has recreated this scenery in a detailed manner, with the airport itself featuring custom ground polygons, animated jetways and highly detailed buildings, which also include a limited 3D interior. The surrounding area is covered in custom aerial imagery.

The scenery also includes static VDGS as of version 1.0.0. However, coming from phrasing on the SimNord website, this might be subject to change in future versions.
SimNord EKCH is now ready to be purchased through the SimNord website for € 21.11. You can also read more about the developer’s work in one of our articles here.
