After publishing Dubai Al-Maktoum Airport earlier in 2026, Skydom Digital Solutions has followed up with their next X-Plane 12 scenery release: Mykonos Airport (LGMK) and the surrounding island. This stunning Greek island destination signals a departure from the Middle East for this development group.
Besides the aforementioned Dubai Al-Maktoum Airport, the studio’s only other release so far was Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Airport in late 2025, which they have given to the community for free to celebrate their first public release. Known for its breathtaking architecture, paradisal beaches and vibrant nightlife, Mykonos is arguably one of the most attractive Greek islands for tourists.

Even with its 1900-metre runway, rising terrain to the north and east, and occasional windshear, this destination is well serviced by many airlines. Most of them operate mainly the Airbus A320 series, Boeing 737 family, Embraer E-Jet and ATR aircraft to and from dozens of locations across the rest of Greece, Europe and the Middle East.
Skydom aims to do justice to the island’s airport with their high-fidelity recreation of its terminal and airside facilities, along with bespoke ground texturing and vegetation placement. Particular attention was given to the sloped runway, which has been adjusted for realism and proper terrain integration. Runway lights have also been manually placed to match its real-world look.

Their work stretches far beyond the airfield, though, as they’ve applied their craft to the rest of the island. The scenery comes with custom models of the island’s characteristic architecture, including blue and red-domed chapels and whitewashed structures. Beaches, resorts, and villas dotted across the island are also represented, along with faithful recreations of Mykonos Town and Little Venice. High-resolution custom orthoimagery of the island underlies these 3D assets.

The Skydom team also took things beyond the limits of Mykonos island’s coast, going as far as enhancing the maritime environment in the surrounding Aegean Sea, including cruise ships and other marine traffic. The Delos Archaeological site, located a short boat ride away from Mykonos on a separate island, is also meticulously modelled along with its surrounding island scenery.
This “immersive destination scenery,” as the group puts it, has lots to discover. You can start exploring Skydom’s Mykonos Airport (LGMK) and Island Scenery for X-Plane 12 now by purchasing your copy from simMarket for €20.00.
