Island Creations has released a new Tenerife scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, offering a highly detailed recreation of the island with significant visual and environmental improvements.
The add-on enhances Tenerife with high-resolution aerial imagery, improved ports, refined vegetation, accurate coastlines, and immersive night lighting, delivering a more realistic and visually consistent experience across the entire island.
The scenery features custom ground textures with manually corrected colors, eliminating unrealistic green tones and providing sharper detail across terrain, rock formations, and coastal areas. All aerial imagery is fully cloud-free, ensuring maximum clarity.
A major highlight of the add-on is the extensive upgrade of ports across Tenerife. Hundreds of hand-placed vessels have been added, including yachts, sailboats, ferries, and cargo ships. Notable details include Fred Olsen Express ferries with night lighting, cruise ships equipped with helipads, and detailed container areas in Santa Cruz.

Night lighting has also been significantly improved, illuminating ports, promenades, hotels, pools, parks, and public areas, creating a much more immersive experience during nighttime operations. Vegetation has been carefully reworked to better match real-world conditions. Native plants such as palm trees have been added, incorrect vegetation has been removed, and areas like the Teide crater now feature more accurate terrain representation.
The coastline has been enhanced using custom water masks, aligning the ocean perfectly with aerial imagery and revealing details such as breakwaters, piers, sandbars, and small islets that were previously not visible. Additional improvements include detailed 3D models of all seven Tenerife lighthouses, complete with animations, as well as fixes for misplaced buildings in various areas of the island.

One of the most important aspects of this release is that it comes in three different versions: Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus. The Standard version includes medium-resolution textures and a smaller file size of approximately 21.6 GB, making it ideal for users with limited storage or those flying at higher altitudes. The Premium version increases texture quality to high resolution, with a file size of around 58.9 GB, offering a balanced experience between performance and visual fidelity for both low and high-altitude flying.
The Premium Plus version delivers the highest level of detail, featuring high and ultra-high-resolution textures in selected areas, with a file size of approximately 64.8 GB. This version is designed for users with more powerful systems and is particularly suited for low-altitude VFR flying, 4K, and VR. It also includes enhanced areas such as Santa Cruz, Playa de Las Teresitas, Puerto de la Cruz, Costa Adeje, Puerto de Santiago, and all major ports across the island.

The add-on is compatible with airport add-ons from Sim-Wings and Wolkenblau, ensuring seamless integration with existing scenery enhancements. The scenery is now available via simMarket and the in-sim Marketplace, with pricing starting at approximately €16.26 for the Standard version, €20.33 for the Premium version, and €25.41 for the Premium Plus version, depending on upgrade eligibility.
