Last week, a destructive Category 5 hurricane named Melissa caused widespread damage across several Caribbean nations. Jamaica is one of the most affected by this storm. It is estimated that Hurricane Melissa caused approximately 6 billion USD in damage, making it the most destructive in Jamaican history. On the 31st of October, BlueBird Simulations announced via their Discord that one of their team member, Jafarie, was directly affected by the Hurricane.
According to the post from the 31st of October by BlueBird, the team had not yet established any communication with Jafarie since the storm made landfall. The team at BlueBird announced the creation of a GoFundMe page where people from the community can contribute to help Jafarie.

The next day, the team posted a second update where it was announced that Jafarie and his family are safe. However, their personal belongings and property were severely affected. BlueBird is also personally working on bringing relief supplies to him and his family, along with the donations made on the GoFundMe page, to help them in this difficult time.
The total amount raised by the community so far is over $2000, which will be sent to Jafarie by the BlueBird team. Their goal is to reach $10,000 in donations. FlightFX, another add-on developer, announced on their Discord that they have donated $1000 to the Jafarie GoFundMe page. BlueBird thanked FlightFX for this donation on another Discord announcement.

BlueBird Simulations is currently producing a video on this matter, which will be available on their YouTube page in the near future. They will provide updates on Jafarie and help spread awareness of the situation faced by a fellow member of our flight simulation community. If you want to contribute, you can head over to the donation page here and help Jafarie.
