BMWorld and AmSim Release Miami International Airport for MSFS

BMWorld and AmSim have once again teamed up to release Miami International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This developer studios duo has recently released many interesting airports, such as San Diego, Montreal, or Phoenix Sky Harbour.

About Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport (MIA/KMIA) is located around 9km (5,6mi) from Miami’s downtown. It was opened in 1928, and before World War II, it was operated by airlines like Pan American World Airways, Eastern Air Lines, and National Airways. Nowadays, it is a hub for many airlines, mainly cargo operators, with American Airlines being the most extensive passenger operator to have a hub in Miami.

Virtual pilots can enjoy journeys to multiple destinations in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. In 2023, the airport served over 52 million people, making it one of the busiest airports in the United States.

Add-On Features

The add-on features include the option to select between high-definition (HD) or standard-definition (SD) textures, providing flexibility for users, especially for those with less powerful computers. Additionally, custom ground and dirt textures with high resolution and detailed ground markings were added to enhance the realism.

The developers also created numerous custom animations for ground vehicles, jetways, and people. The most interesting custom animation created is the MIA mover, an automated system to move people between terminals.

The terminal is accurately modeled, and some parts, for instance, a check-in area, received an interior model. At night, the add-on shows an accurate model of night lighting.
