Announced only about two months ago, Boundless have today released their biggest scenery yet for X-Plane 11. Covering the entire island of Alderney, the scenery has a lot to offer. It has been developed in cooperation with Ciano35, a developer who participated on the Kerry Airport (EIKY) scenery development.
As mentioned in the introduction, the scenery covers the entire island of Alderney in the Channel Islands. It features crisp orthophoto imagery from the States of Guernsey from 2019, every major landmark on the island is represented in the scenery, and custom HD vegetation is present as well.
In addition to those, Boundless have recreated small details such as telephone boxes, greenhouses, hay bales, or sheds, for example, as well to bring more realism to the scenery. Otherwise, the scenery features PBR textures, custom night lighting, accurate airport layout, or excellent optimization. All objects around the scenery were hand-placed, including the vegetation.
The scenery can be purchased through the new Boundless website for approximately €23.30. With that, Boundless has mentioned, that with the new store, scenery updates will be coming there faster and the prices will be lower as it’s all being “in-house”.
Alderney is the northernmost island of the Channel Islands. With an area of about 8 km2, the island is the third-largest in the group of islands. There is a single airport on the island, Alderney Airport (EGJA), which sees only about 50 thousand passengers each year with routes to Southampton and Guernsey.
