Independent developer ezy887 has released a trailer of their upcoming product called simREF, a new utility designed to manage checklists and documentation. The software aims to replace digital document viewers while providing a high amount of functionality built into the app.

What We Know So Far

According to the official announcement, simREF functions as a centralized tool for operational data, built to offer “clarity for every decision” during high-workload flight phases. The developer describes the system as being “inspired by real-world procedures”, while specifically optimizing it for the virtual cockpit workflow.

Significant Features

The application is built to support comprehensive operational documentation, extending beyond simple checklists to include standard procedures and operational items such as the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Operations Engineering Bulletins (OEB). Additionally, simREF features dynamic, operator-specific content, featuring operator-specific procedures and checklists.

Users can import their own files, utilize global search functionality, and set bookmarks for frequently visited pages. The interface design focuses on “pure readability,” ensuring that the operational workflow remains smooth and that pilots can navigate between normal, abnormal, and supplementary procedures.

simREF is slated for release on December 23, and the developer has confirmed that the software will be available as a one-time purchase for €10 from the App Store. Be sure to check out ezy887’s category to stay up to date on the project’s development.
