FSDreamTeam has broken its months-long silence with the release of GSX 3.7.2. This long-awaited update, dubbed Big Black Friday Update (BBFU) by the developer, is one of the biggest updates since the original release of GSX for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Far more than a cosmetic patch, this version introduces a new way to interact with airports, aircraft, and ground services. A YouTube tutorial accompanies the release, showcasing the new visual editing tools.
Interactive Map and Visual Editing
The centrepiece of 3.7.2 is the new airport map. It replaces guesswork and nested menus with a visual layout of the airport, showing gates, runways, taxiways, vehicle paths, and GSX customisation data. The map supports OpenStreetMap, Bing, Google and Navigraph layers with zoom, pan, and opacity control.

More than a viewer, the map now functions as a full profile editor. Users can drag vehicles into position, copy layouts between gates, adjust thresholds, and edit pushback paths visually. The new QuickEdit mode allows live route adjustments, with real-time traffic overlays.

The map can also highlight runways, SIDs and STARs from Simbrief flight plans and displays en route and airport charts from Navigraph. This function allows the user to pre-select stands before landing or reposition the aircraft directly from the map.
Cleaning Crew and Other Additions
GSX now includes a new aircraft cleaning crew feature that activates once passengers have disembarked. Depending on aircraft size and layout, four to eight animated staff members arrive in a van and board the aircraft using rear stairs when jetways are not in use. Each crew member performs independent cleaning tasks with dedicated props and animations, such as wiping surfaces or vacuuming, coordinated within the constraints of narrow cabin corridors. The updated animation engine supports more fluid, natural movement and improves character interaction in tight interior spaces.

On top of all these new features, GSX 3.7.2 also introduces seated passenger support for the CRJ v2 and FSS E-Jets 175/195, compatibility with the MSFS Community2024 folder structure, and a wide set of bug fixes targeting marshaller logic, boarding interruptions, and PMDG automation in SU4 beta. More significantly, the update reshapes how users interact with the software: visual editing on a live airport map now becomes the central workflow for GSX customisation.
