TOGAProjects, a known P3D developer responsible for add-ons like ENVSound, Envtex or Envshade, has posted some information regarding the upcoming version of Prepar3D.
The developers shared this information through their website, and describes the functionality of the add-ons in Prepar3D v5. They also announced that they will continue to develop things for this kind of new platform. With the envtex, they expect that all the features should be compatible out of the box, and shouldn’t/might not to get an update. The first compatibility patch will be free of charge. But now, let’s take a closer look to all the add-ons by TOGA projects.
Envtex
As mentioned in the previous section of the article, all the features will be compatible out of the box, even though some features might have to be updated. After the release of P3D v5, the developer will release a compatibility update that will be free of charge. Later on, they would like to update the textures for a full compatibility of PBR feature available in P3D. The patch should be released by next days/weeks. They will also take a closer look on the TrueSky feature that comes with the Prepar3D v5.
Envshade
The developer said that Envshade will be fully incompatible with Prepar3D until they won’t rework the shaders. As with Envtex, the update for P3D v5 will be free of charge for all current customers. The last but not least about Envshade, they will try to play with the TrueSky feature and Envshade how it behaves. This kind of update should be for a small fee.
Envsound
It has been said that the developer that it should be compatible, but envdir will have to be updated. Also, as every update before, this update will be free of charge.
