Following the release of vFlyteAir’s PA-30 Twin Comanche for MSFS in October, the developer has now released its first big update for the aircraft. The PA-30 Twin Comanche was vFlyteAir’s first aircraft for MSFS, however, the developer is well-known in the X-Plane general aviation community.
The Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche is a lightweight, twin-engine aircraft known for its speed, efficiency, and reliability. Introduced in 1961, it offers impressive climb rates, a max speed of 165 knots, and a service ceiling of 18,000 feet. This makes it a popular choice for cross-country flying. The Twin Comanche remains a respected and versatile aircraft, valued by pilots for its balance of performance and efficiency.
The developer started by thanking everyone for purchasing the first version of the Twin, emphasising how development was heavily impacted by the military actions in Ukraine. The main developer, Igor Kirilov, lives in Kyiv and served in the defence in the territorial defence units. He mentions he could be called up at any time. Therefore, a decision was made to release the aircraft early, with the basic functionality.
Despite this big challenge, he has managed to continue the development of the PA-30, with the main update this time being the sound design. He mentions in the release notes, “If sound used to be a weak point of the Twin, now it is a strong point”. All the sounds have been taken from the original aircraft, and the sound of the engines are modelled accurately and volumetrically.
Furthermore, vFlyteAir has now added the possibility to make your own livery with your own registration number. A lot of smaller bugs have also been fixed, with the possibility of changing between the Garmin or TDS navigation system without overloading the aircraft. These updates enhance customization and usability, making the flight experience more immersive and enjoyable.
