Aerosoft Shares Update on A340-600 Pro Fuel and Electric Systems

Aerosoft has showcased the advanced fuel and electrical systems of their upcoming A340-600 Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Aerosoft took to their YouTube channel to showcase the fuel and electric systems for their highly-anticipated A340-600 Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. In this installment of their A340-600 Pro Dev Update, they delve not only into the systems, but also into the system logic of the iconic long-hauler.

About the Aerosoft A340-600 Pro for MSFS

Announced at FlightSimExpo 2025, the upcoming A340-600 Pro is a partnership between Aerosoft and ToLiss, known for their A340-600 add-on for X-Plane 11 and 12. The collaboration aims to bring a high-fidelity rendition of the long-haul aircraft to the skies of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Fuel System

The video begins with an overview of the A340-600’s fuel system, which features eight fuel tanks. Six are located in the wings, one center tank, and one trim tank situated in the tail. The hosts discuss how the fuel system transfers fuel between tanks during flight to ensure the aircraft’s center of gravity stays optimized throughout all phases of flight. The aircraft’s fuel system logic also includes functions for several other subsystems, including the cross-feed, fuel jettison, and trim tank architecture, mirroring the real aircraft’s fuel logic.

Electrical System

Further into the video, the redundancy of the A340-600’s electrical system is highlighted, with the aircraft having four independent generators, three batteries (one of which is dedicated to the APU), as well as an APU. The hosts discussed how the aircraft would handle engine shutdowns, and how the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) automatically deploys to provide a stable source of electricity in the event of one or more generator failures. Along with automatic power switching and backup systems in place, the setup ensures that stable power is provided to the aircraft even in cases of non-normal events.

As of the time of writing, no release date or pricing has been set for the A340-600 Pro. However, Aerosoft plans to release the aircraft for MSFS 2020 first, with a 2024-optimized version coming at a later date.
