Arantis Simulations has released the Daedalus BS214 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The aircraft is a “prototype experimental twin-engine aircraft,” as the developers describe it, and it is their full work from top to bottom.
About the Daedalus BS214
The name “Daedalus” comes from the mythological Greek engineer, architect, and artist Daedalus. The aircraft features two Rotax 915iS engines, with the right engine turning clockwise in case of an engine failure. It offers an anti-ice protection system powered by the right engine. The “A/C climate control system” is powered by the left engine. The aircraft was designed using NASA’s OpenVSP software and completed in Blender. Real-world data and formulas were used for calculating weight, surface area, and dimensions.

PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials are present along with highly detailed textures for enhanced clarity, including decals. You can find various animated parts such as doors, sun visors, seats, armrests, cockpit switches, and buttons. The aircraft offers realistic exterior lighting, backlighting, and floodlighting. It features a livery with five different color options (yellow, blue, red, green, and white) and a detailed checklist. For the avionics, the add-on has;
- G3X Touch Avionics by Working Title (PFD & MFD)
- GTN750 by PMS50 or GTN750Xi by TDS Sim VC integration (replacing the MFD)
- GMC307 autopilot (with Yaw Damper) and more
The add-on uses the default DA62 SDK sounds and some custom sounds. Additional effects include engine smoke, exhaust smoke and fire effects. A detailed manual and hardware key bindings PDF is also present in the add-on. There are currently two editions; one for MSFS 2020 and another for MSFS 2024. The MSFS 2024 version does not support some features like pre-flight inspection and career mode. Avatars also do not appear in the plane due to a different avatar system.
You can buy the Daedalus BS214 from their website for โฌ12.00 compatible with MSFS 2020 and 2024. If you are interested in more twin-prop aircraft add-ons, check out the FlightFX P180 Turboprop article here on FSNews.
