FSimStudios announces new Vancouver, London and Ontario sceneries for P3D

FSimStudios, a fairly unknown developer, has taken to Facebook to update the community on their future plans. The developer has announced two brand new airports and reconfirmed the reworks of two of their existing sceneries. And of course an update on v5 compatibility of their products is given as well.

FSimStudios announces new Vancouver, London and Ontario sceneries for P3D - FSimStudios, Prepar3D

The first airport the team announced is Vancouver (CYVR). It’s one of their biggest and most ambitious projects ever done. The airport is being modelled and textured using Ultra HD textures and new technologies to make it as performant as possible. The airport itself features the recently built D pier and the new Airside Operations Building and other recent changes to the airport. They’re currently working on WET-FX and SNOW-FX technologies to make the experience as immersive as possible.

The airport’s surroundings are given attention as well. The addon will include 178 km² of aircraft captured seasonal orthophotos, covering Vancouver city and Sea Island with a resolution between 30 and 50cm/pix. All orthophotos will have autogen and several custom buildings in the downtown area. Vancouver Harbour & Heliport (CYHC) and Vancouver International Water Airport (CAM9 ) are included too. This airport is currently scheduled for release in the early summer of 2020 first for Prepar3D v5. V5 and MSFS will follow after that.

The second airport the team announced is London Ontario International Airport. The airport has seen rapid growth in recent years offering year-round flights to almost every major Canadian city and summer charters to Caribbean destinations. The airport also sees many cargo flights and it’s the home of Diamond Aircraft.

This airport will feature orthophotos too at 20 to 30cm/px. The helipads at Victoria hospital are included, as are the ones at the University Hospital. The downtown area will have custom buildings. This airport is scheduled for release in the early summer of 2020, first for P3Dv4, then v5 and MSFS.

The developer also reconfirms the reworks for their current Calgary (CYYC) and Tocumen (MPTO) sceneries. They’re working on them at the same time but are currently not able to give a timeframe for release.

The post ends with a compatibility update for Prepar3D v5. The team is working hard to get their current catalogue up to date. Edmonton (CYEG) will receive an update tonight. The developer says that SimMarket, their usual publisher, doesn’t allow updated installers for free anymore, confirming what other developers like JustSim have also mentioned. They disagree with this change and are looking for alternative ways to update their products for free to everyone. This applies to Cancun (MMUN), Toncumen (MPTO), Calgary (CYYC), Quebec City Airport (CYQB) and Toronto City Centre Airport (CYTZ).
