After various images of a new airport by scenery developer Gaya Simulations for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 started to surface. The developer broke the silence and made an official announcement regarding this new scenery on their social media. Spain’s biggest airport, Madrid-Barajas, is now in active development by Gaya Simulations for MSFS2024.
Gaya Simulations is a well-known scenery developer in the flight simulation community. The developer recently came back to work on standalone projects after their involvement in a partnership with the MSFS development team. They helped create detailed scenery included in some updates for the simulator, most recently releasing various handcrafted airports for World Update 21: Australia. Their first recent standalone addition is their Corfu Airport for MSFS.
Madrid-Barajas Airport by Gaya Simulations will be one of several future airports the developer plans to release. They confirmed that their priority is now their Vienna Airport (LOWW) Reboot for MSFS2024, which will be their next big release. At this time, most we know about the Madrid-Barajas project is limited to a handful of images shared via social media.

The images shared of this new scenery showcase the work the team put into creating Terminal 4 of Madrid-Barajas Airport. The terminal will feature a detailed interior with various modeled objects, featuring a high level of detail. An image of the iconic terminal roof design shows the texturing work. Aside from interior and exterior shots of Terminal 4, the developer did not show other elements of this massive airport, like the other terminal buildings. According to the images, they were all taken from within the simulator.

Since this scenery is still in early development, we can expect more previews and information in the coming months after Gaya’s next major release. The developer said further announcements and releases are arriving soon, so stay tuned for further reveals from Gaya Simulations here.
