The developer Hangar Studios 713, responsible for add-ons like the Ryan Navion B “Super 260” and the L-17B for Microsoft Flight Simulator has released their new aircraft, Super Decathlon by American Champion.
This aircraft is a two-seat fixed-wing light aircraft that is designed for flight training and capable of heavy aerobatic stress. The production started in the 1970s and replaced the American Champion Citabra lineup.
It features tandem seating and the frame is built with welded metal tubing, while the fuselage and tail surfaces are a combination of wood and fabric.
The aircraft is powered by the Lycoming AEIO-360-H1A or -H1B, each producing 180 horsepower. As a matter of fact, the Grand Tour and Top Gear presenter had one of these, with the registration of G-OCOK.
Key Features of Hangar Studios 713 Super Decathlon
The developer’s Super Decathlon rendition offers an authentic flight model that’s been developed in cooperation with real-world Decathlon pilots and has been carefully crafted to match the performance of its real counterpart.
The aircraft is also fully VR compatible, with the capability of using it in motion simulators. The texturing is, according to the developer, spectacular. Every little detail can be visible and readable in this rendition. In the virtual cockpit, you can choose between the analogue or glass panel.
The package also includes a number of unique liveries. This includes Jimmy’s Extreme Decathlon and Charlie Morris’ airshow Super Decathlon.
Those wanting to use this aircraft in virtual airshows will be glad to hear that the aircraft also includes a smoke system. Lastly, the aircraft has a fully modelled visible engine during oil checks, door and window animations and a detailed yoke and pedal system.
The aircraft is available for approximately โฌ18.04 via Orbx Central and the Orbx Direct website.
