Horizon Simulations continued its third anniversary celebrations with several Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 announcements. Day three brought the reveal of the ACJ320neo, while subsequent days focused on expanding the team’s Airbus line-up. The event also included development updates for their HUES platform.
Horizon Simulations Airbus NEO Line-up
Following the ACJ announcement, the developer presented the Airbus A319neo. Mark, Co-Founder and CEO of Horizon Simulations, noted that its rarity in airline fleets and novelty in the simulator make it “even more exciting” for the team to bring to simmers. Like the ACJ320neo, the A319neo will benefit from FlyByWire Simulations’ systems integration and other planned improvements. The next day, Horizon also confirmed the A319neo would be available in both the standard airline configuration and as the long-range corporate jet variant, the ACJ319neo.

Day five introduced a joint venture between Qbit Simulations and Horizon Simulations, as they partner to develop one of the most successful narrow-body aircraft. The A321neo and accompanying LR and XLR variants are set to be delivered to both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Despite the team’s initial consideration to develop a single variant, they expressed a desire to develop all three for the community.
HUES Development Updates
Horizon Simulations’ livery group, HUES, wrapped up the announcements. In the days that followed, announcements were made regarding the HUES Livery Manager and their website. Users of the Livery Manager should expect an intuitive interface, designed to manage their HUES liveries with ease. The application is said to be coming soon and will deliver an experience built to simplify installing, updating, and organising liveries. It’s also expected to provide tools for livery creators, including templates and texture packs.

Building on the previous announcement, the team also announced their official HUES website, a platform to showcase their livery designs. It is set to bring their portfolio of liveries, information about the creators, and a simple method of connecting with the team. Both the livery manager and website aim to bring the work of the developer closer to flight simmers.
