The Navigraph team at FSExpo has showcased a roadmap for the upcoming time for their Navigraph Charts application that everyone in the flight simulator hobby is now familiar with. Their presentation was mostly focused on what they have brought to us over the past year, as well as what we may expect in the near future.
The presentation started with a teaser that showcased all the new features that we may expect, and those were later detailed by the presenter. The first major feature coming to the Navigraph Charts application is the addition of Oceanic Tracks. This is an important addition for many long haul enjoyers, as they will make their flight planning across the pond easier.

They are, as in the real world, going to be updated every day, based on the current situation in the oceanic airspace. Clicking on each track will show you its route, its entry and exit fixes, as well as flight levels, and whether it’s used for westbound or eastbound flights. If you tend to create your flight plan manually in the Navigraph Charts application, you will be able to switch between the tracks to your liking.

The team is also focusing on expanding the VFR use of Navigraph Charts. This time, more VFR charts were added to the application, including Brazil, some parts of the Middle East and Southeast Asia. These charts are going to be detailed and should help all the virtual VFR pilots with proper navigation in these airspaces. Speaking of charts, the Jeppesen IFR charts are no longer going to be updated alongside the AIRAC cycle, but weekly. This will ensure better accuracy of the charts.

Lastly, the Epic 2 avionics, for example, used in the Pilatus PC-24, are getting a Navigraph and SimBrief integration. You will be able to download your flight plan through these avionics, view charts that are going to be movable, and follow your current position, just as in any EFB in an airliner, for example.
For now, that was all the Navigraph team had to share. For more presentations from FSExpo, check out the whole FSExpo category here.
