Parallel 42 Releases Widows Peak for MSFS

The developer Parallel 42 (//42) has released another scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, this time covering an off-field landing area in Lincoln County, Wyoming. This landing area is called Widows Peak and offers a variety of interesting natural features.

Widows Peak is located approximately 25 miles away from the previously released Circle B Ranch. In the product post, it is mentioned that Widows Peak offers a large challenge, even for experienced bush pilots. The area offers unpredictable wind changes, and hugging the rocks below you. Precision is very important whilst landing at this landing strip.

Parallel 42 mentions that the challenge this place offers is similar to the already-released Sharktooth Ridge. There are two grass runways, both of which are not maintained. There is also a helipad, and STOL aircraft are highly recommended for flying here.

There is a temporary windsock placed at this airfield. From the east, you will need to be cautious of the terrain and the cliff, whilst flying from south or east, the wind changes upon hitting the cliff edge.

The surrounding area of Widows Peak offers a hiking trail to a nearby cabin, with dedicated camping areas and people fishing, swimming and boating.

The developer also included custom sounds, custom 3D vegetation and enhanced terrain with Parallel 42’s “TrailBlazer” technology.
