The developer RW Profiles, mostly known for their GSX profiles for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, has shown new previews of their upcoming Newcastle Airport (EGNT) scenery for MSFS 2024. The team has shown these previews through their Discord server.

These six previews mostly show the ground textures found at the airport, alongside two showcases of ground vehicles that will be roaming around the airport. The terminal has been shown as well, together with the view from the approach of runway 07.

Michael from the team has mentioned in the Discord post that this new, reworked version of Newcastle Airport is going to include new, high-resolution textures with native MSFS 2024 night lighting, to adapt to the improved simulator engine properly. This is all ensured by utilising the MSFS 2024’s SDK features, including LOD, ensuring smooth loading in and out, and helping to maintain performance.

RW Profiles has already invested around 250 hours into this updated version of the scenery, and it should be released soon. However, the release window has not been established yet, and it is not known whether the existing users of the MSFS 2020 version will get this variant for free. In the meantime, you can read more about RW Profiles in one of our articles, covering the Springfield-Branson Airport release here.
