Simulación Extrema Releases Mérida Airport for MSFS

 

The developer Simulación Extrema, known within the South American flight simulation community for creating various sceneries, has recently released a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024: Mérida International Airport (MMMD), is located in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.

About Mérida Airport

Located in the southern part of the city, Mérida Airport is one of four airports in Mexico that has an Area Control Center. The Area Control Center of Mérida controls air traffic over the southeastern part of the country. The airport handles both domestic and international flights and is open 24 hours a day, being able to handle aircraft as large as the Boeing 747. It is the 8th busiest airport in Mexico.

Simulación Extrema has hand-modeled the exteriors of all the main buildings of the airport, as well as the interior of the departure hall of the new second-floor terminal. The air base and its hangars were also modeled as much as possible, according to the developer. Other characteristics included are:

  • Taxi Parking
  • Custom jetways
  • Custom apron, taxiway, and runway textures
  • PBR textures in 4K resolution
  • Sculptures outside of the terminal

The developer invites flight simulation enthusiasts to enjoy their flights through the Rivera Maya by acquiring this scenery, which will enhance their flights. The scenery is retailed at simMarket, currently on sale, for €9.10. The sale ends in three days, before coming back to the original price of €13.00.
