Skybound and Mango Studios Release Inverness for X-Plane 12

Skybound and Mango Studios launch rebuilt Inverness EGPE scenery for X-Plane 12, bringing detailed Scottish Highlands airport ops to sim pilots.

Developers Mango Studios and Skybound have released a new scenery of Inverness (EGPE) for X-Plane 12. This scenery, rebuilt from the ground up, aims to offer a highly detailed scenery of this Scottish Highlands gateway.

Inverness Airport is known for its longest domestic flights in the United Kingdom, connecting it to London Gatwick with easyJet. The airport is mostly operated by short-haul aircraft to all of Europe. As Inverness is located in the Highlands, the weather tends to get rough and unpredictable there over the whole year, making it a great destination if you would like to get some challenge of low-visibility landing and crosswinds along the coast.

The scenery by Skybound and Mango Studios is a native X-Plane 12 version, optimised for the simulator’s volumetric weather, real-time rain shaders and dynamic seasonal textures. The whole model is highly detailed, with 4K PBR texturing and high-resolution 3D models. The whole airport is surrounded by photorealistic ground textures with dirt, wear and runway grunge. During the night, the airport is lit up using custom, colour-accurate night lighting models. All of that still offers a good optimisation for most systems.

The scenery is now available through the X-Plane.org store for approximately €14.03. The price is only an approximation, as you will be charged in US Dollars. The current price is also discounted, and will return to €17.54 soon. You can also read more about Mango Studios in one of our previous articles here.
