Skyward Simulations Releases Development Update on C680 Sovereign+ for MSFS

Skyward Simulations shares a new development update on the C680 Sovereign+ for MSFS, highlighting advanced systems and G5000 avionics.

Skyward Simulations has shared a further development update on its upcoming Cessna Citation C680 Sovereign+ for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and the upcoming 2024 version. Following a previous progress report covered earlier, the developer has now provided additional insight into the aircraft’s systems depth and technical implementation.

In a recent update shared through the developer’s Discord channels, the team explained that the project has progressed through several internal development stages, with a strong focus on refining system fidelity and overall simulation accuracy. While no release date has been confirmed, the aircraft appears to be moving steadily toward completion.

A central highlight of the Sovereign+ remains its extensive electrical system simulation. For the MSFS 2020 version, the aircraft features over 170 individual circuits with detailed bus logic, battery temperature modeling, ground power integration, and interactive circuit breakers. The MSFS 2024 variant expands this significantly, with the developer reporting close to 600 circuits, 900 electrical lines, 250 buses, and 80 relays. Such complexity positions the aircraft among the more technically ambitious business jet projects currently announced for the new simulator platform.

Beyond electrical modeling, the Sovereign+ includes a fully simulated anti-ice system covering wings, engines, stabilizer, and windshield, alongside a detailed bleed air layout with APU integration and automatic source selection. Fuel and hydraulic systems are also modeled with realistic crossfeed logic and accumulator behavior. FADEC and autothrottle logic are implemented with phase-based thrust limits and integration with FMS-managed speed profiles.

The aircraft is built around a comprehensive Garmin G5000 avionics suite, featuring dedicated synoptic pages, advanced crew alerting logic, and integrated datalink functionality supporting ACARS and CPDLC operations. An in-depth electronic flight bag (EFB) further enhances operational realism, offering payload management, SimBrief integration, Navigraph Charts support, and interactive checklist functionality.

While pricing and release timing remain unconfirmed, the latest update suggests that development is progressing steadily. If you’re interested in the project, take a look at Skyward Simulations’ official page. Make sure to stay tuned to FSNews for future development updates on this aircraft.
