UK2000 updates on V5 compatibility, considers Isle of Man

UK2000 has posted 3 updates on the compatibility of their products with the recently released Prepar3D v5 as well as future plans. They explain the problems they’re facing when updating their sceneries, as v5 brings many changes to the way it renders scenery.

The scenery creator says he would like to make Isle of Man, but mentions that a remake of Manchester or Gatwick is also on the community wish list. The airport that is next up for release is their remake of Glasgow. In the comment section, UK2000 posted the other projects they will be working on. After Glasgow, we can expect updated versions of Edinburgh, Stansted, Cardiff and East Midlands. All of this will only be worked on after the current products have been made compatible with v5 as that is still their priority.

UK2000 did not get early access to the P3D SDK and therefore couldn’t test the products with v5. Gary mentions in the forums that sloped runways will be something that might only come with airport remakes, not with updates.

Converting the sceneries seems to require some work. Gary explains that scenery buildings compiled for v4 don’t show up in v5. FSX models do show up fine. As a temporary fix, the developer suggests installing the version for Prepar3D v3. A registry key is also offered with the post for the people who don’t have that installed.
