Aerosoft took to their Facebook page to announce the release of their renditions of seven new general aviation airfields in southern Germany, namely Airfield Landshut (EDML), Airfield Aalen-Heidenheim/Elchingen (EDPA), Airfield Biberach (EDMB), Airfield Deggendorf (EDMW), Airfield Regensburg (EDNR), Airfield Herzogenaurach (EDQH), and Airfield Rothenburg (EDFR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Created by developer ClearPropStudios, this package is the second such offering in their excellent Bavarian Airfields series for MSFS.
Aerosoft states that hundreds of detailed photographs were taken and served as references to faithfully reconstruct the airfields in Microsoft Flight Simulator with incredible accuracy and detail. The developers themselves flew to these locations to focus on every detail and identify approach points across all airfields to ensure an astonishing amount of realism for us general aviation lovers out there.
All airfields offer highly detailed facilities and airfield buildings, authentic taxiway and runway markings and textures, original advertisements, posters, banners, or animated figures. What’s more, every airfield makes use of complex lighting technology, and their hangars open and close doors depending on the time of day.
Landshut Airfield is a small airfield in Bavaria, Germany. It has one runway and is mainly used for flying lessons and skydiving. Aalen-Heidenheim/Elchingen Airfield, which is the largest in comparison, is located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and has 3 runways. Airfield Biberach is also located in Baden-Württemberg, 65 miles to the southwest, and has a single runway, while Airfield Deggendorf is located 170 miles to the east.
Airfield Regensburg is located 50 miles northwest of Deggendorf, the capital of the Deggendorf district, which is known for its rich history and is an ideal starting point for exploring eastern Bavaria. Regensburg itself is very popular for its lovely churches, cathedrals, and chapels, making it an appealing place to fly to. Airfield Herzogenaurach is a regional airport situated in Erlangen-Höchstadt, 230 miles southwest of Berlin and 80 miles northwest of Regensburg.
Herzogenaurach itself is well known for being the home of the major international sporting goods companies Adidas and Puma. The airfield at Rothenburg is 40 miles west of Herzogenaurach. It is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, is a destination for tourists from around the world, and used to be a part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany.
Aerosoft also stated that all airfields have the approval of their respective operators as well as ICAO approach charts provided by Deutsche Flugsicherung and Eisenschmidt. The seven Bavarian airfields are available for purchase on Aerosoft’s website for €25.17 EUR. The in-game Marketplace release details were not disclosed.
