Well-known GA aircraft developer Black Square has just released its latest two aircraft, the Beechcraft Baron and Bonanza, for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Both General Aviation legends feature several variants, each with highly realistic systems and visuals.

Two Beechcraft Legends

The Bonanza is a 6-seat single-engine aircraft manufactured by Beechcraft, with the first models flying in 1947 and the latest still being produced to this day. This impressive production run has made it the longest continually produced aircraft ever made, and for good reason. The Bonanza has always been a fast and luxurious cruiser, with the latest models having a cruise speed of 176 knots thanks to their 300-horsepower Lycoming IO-550s.

Many prefer the redundancy and extra speed from having two engines, so Beechcraft took the Bonanza and developed it into the Travel Air, which would eventually become the Baron. The Baron has been in production since 1961 and, like the Bonanza, is still in production to this day. The Baron features two of the same Lycoming IO-550s you’ll find in the Bonanza, which push it to a cruise speed of around 197 knots.

Black Square’s Rendition

Black Square previously offered the Baron and Bonanza analog overhauls, which took the default MSFS 2020 aircraft and changed the cockpit model to include analog gauges and a few new systems. Since MSFS 2024 features new external models for both of these aircraft, Black Square found that adapting the analog overhauls to the new simulator would be impossible. The Baron and Bonanza Professional both have sounds from Boris Audio Works, custom interior and exterior models, and many new features compared to the analog overhauls.

There are three variants available for both aircraft. The Baron comes with a standard mid-2000s B58, a 1985 B58P (pressurized), and a 1984 B58TC (turbocharged and pressurized). The Bonanza comes with a standard mid-2000s A36, a 2001 A36TC (turbocharged), and an aftermarket modification, the B36TP, which converts it into a turboprop.

Both of these aircraft feature Black Square’s latest piston and turbine engine technologies. Every cylinder in the engine is simulated, including compression, spark plug fouling, flooding, and more. The turbine engine simulation is equally detailed, with accurate ITT temperatures, hot starts, beta range, and more.

These engines and the parts in them also have simulated wear and failures; you can inspect the status of the engines from the EFB, which is also where you can change various settings. For navigation options, you can choose from the old-school KLN90B GPS, the newer GNS530/430, the TDS or PMS GTN750/650, or go for no GPS if you want to test your radio navigation skills.
