BlueBird Simulations has taken to their YouTube to share another development update with the community, this time focusing on the night lighting of the upcoming Boeing 757 rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator. In addition to that, the developer also addressed some questions about the Boeing 787, which they are currently working on as well.
The development update video starts with addressing criticism from the community about starting a third aircraft project while there are already two in development. The CEO of BlueBird mentions that only the 3D models of both the 787 and the 767 were created, and this doesn’t affect the development of the 757, as the 757 only needs more system programming now.
By the end of the year, the team wants to finish the texturing of the Boeing 767.
Moving over to the 757, the BlueBird Simulations disclosed information about the release date. The CEO feels that the release date might be pushed to the next year if that will be needed. For the BlueBird team, it is right to make the aircraft as finished as possible on the release. The majority of work that still needs to be done remains in the systems, parts of the exterior, the virtual cabin and the sounds.
In the next part of the video, the developer shows the night lighting of the Boeing 757 in the famous Icelandair livery. There were some big revisions on the cabin lights, especially on the shadows, but the additional work seems to have added a lot to the realism of the visual aspect of the plane.
It has been mentioned that 95% of the lighting has been finished, and only some minor tweaking remains to be done.
With this, the video was closed up, and the developer also mentioned that in one or two weeks another part of this development update should follow up, covering the sounds.
