Deadstick Flight Simulator Not Dead, New Development Update Released

Deadstick Flight Simulator’s developer REMEX Software has just released a new development update for the game after going silent for nearly four years. The video, which was uploaded to the Deadstick Flight Simulator YouTube channel, goes over the developer’s plans for the game and announces some new partnerships that will help them continue development.

What is Deadstick?

Deadstick is a bush flight simulator that was announced around September 2017. Its core focus is to provide an authentic bush flying experience. It will do this by not only providing realistic flight models and aircraft but also damage, maintenance, and customization systems for the aircraft. It will also have an economy system where players do missions to earn money for aircraft, hangar, and even airport upgrades.

The game’s developers first presented the project at FlightSim2017, where they announced some of its features and showed some early gameplay. After that, the team was fairly active on Twitter and YouTube, posting development updates and gameplay that seemed to indicate that things were going well. However, after Flight Log #4 was posted in December 2020, the team went silent.

Deadstick Is Not Dead

After a nearly four-year hiatus, Deadstick’s developers released a new development update on their YouTube channel announcing that the project is not dead and, in fact, they have formed new partnerships to continue development.

Chris Cheetham, creator of Deadstick, decided to hand ownership of the project to a new developer called Mythwright. It, along with UK game studio Spiral House, will continue development of the much-anticipated simulator. Although the project has been handed over to new developers, Chris has remarked that he will still play a supportive role in the development of the game.

While no other information about a release date or new gameplay was given, Deadstick fans can now feel relieved in knowing that the game has a bright new future ahead.
