Flightsim Studio AG has released a Q4 development update covering the current state and plans for its key aircraft projects. The announcement highlights ongoing work on the Boeing 727 series, the long-awaited introduction of VNAV functionality for the E-Jets, a major shift for the Tecnam fleet, and the company’s evolving event strategy. The update also emphasises the studio’s ongoing commitment to stability, technical accuracy, and realistic scheduling.

Boeing 727 Series

The Boeing 727-200 is now regarded as a technically stable aircraft, with further improvements limited to incremental refinements. Version 1.1.6 is due for release soon. Interest in the aircraft remains strong, boosted by the popularity of the Super27 variant. Work on the 727-100 is advancing in parallel. While based on the same codebase, it incorporates significant system and cockpit differences. The release is targeted for late this year or early 2026, depending on the project flow and team availability.

E-Jets Series

The E-Jets project continues to advance, with the beta testing team actively resolving remaining issues. Most reported problems are edge cases, indicating that core systems are functioning as intended. The addition of the VNAV autopilot represents a major internal milestone. FlightSim Studio plans to offer an experimental public version, aligned with the internal beta state and updated periodically with major improvements. Before this wider release, key requirements such as TCAS integration and WASM sound migration must be completed. A launch before year-end is possible but not confirmed.

Tecnam Aircraft

The Tecnam fleet is transitioning exclusively to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with new updates designed for FS24 features like the walkaround mode and native EFB support. This marks the end of active development for FS2020 versions. The Tecnam P2012 is now in an advanced phase and is expected to enter beta testing in early 2026.

On the event front, Flightsim Studio will not attend FSWeekend Lelystad in 2026, opting instead to keep the team focused on development. The studio does plan to attend FSExpo 2026 in Minneapolis with a more streamlined presence.
