While PMDG was working hard on releasing their anticipated 737 Next Generation (NG) model for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator, the developers at iFly were busy updating their legacy rendition to be fully compatible with Prepar3D and accommodate current expectations of a flight simmer.
Whether it is still worth supporting an older platform like Prepar3D is, we don’t know and are here not to evaluate, but to share this news with you. The new version of the iFly 737NG series offers compatibility with only the latest major release of the simulator. Thus, Prepar3D v5.2 and higher.
The addon comes with all-new high-definition virtual cockpit models, full PBR materials, new mouse interaction logic for better user interactions with various switches and instruments throughout the flight deck, or a new dynamic lighting system.
The developers have additionally made sure to include an extensive Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) to the flight deck with an option to integrate Navigraph Charts to it. This, however, requires Navigraph subscription.
For the best realism and immersion, the team at iFly has consulted the addon behaviour with real Boeing 737NG pilots and tuned the addon based on the feedback they received.
Additionally, new sounds were accompanied by the release together with full virtual reality support and multiple wing, flight deck eyebrow window, and engine variants. The product, priced at a decent $69.95 (approx. €62), offers two aircraft variants in the NG series – 800 and 900.
For the owners of the legacy version of the addon for Prepar3D, the developers are offering a 25% discount whereas for the owners of the Flight Simulator X version of the addon, there is a 20% discount available.
The addon can be purchased through the Flight1 store for the previously mentioned price of $69.95, or about €62.
