The developer iFly has shown a new update that is currently being prepared for their Boeing 737 MAX for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This information has been shared via the Flight1 Discord Server, alongside a few images of the update.
In this shorter development update, the iFly team speaks about the 737 MAX and its near future. The developer mentions that these are the current plans for the aircraft, and are still subject to change, and we might not expect the previewed features earlier than the next three months. These features are not even in beta testing just yet.

The biggest change for the virtual pilots is probably going to be the new EFB, which is going to be iPad-style, replacing the old Boeing EFB that we are currently used to in the aircraft. This should bring the aircraft on par with other existing add-ons like Fenix A320 or the PMDG’s series of Boeing planes.
Furthermore, the developer plans to include CPDLC via Hoppie ACARS for VATSIM or IVAO, and the team is also exploring the possibility of connecting the CPDLC with BATC and SayIntentions. Cabin Announcements are also going to be present, and the plane should also accommodate improvements to the autopilot and other tweaks.
Lastly, the iFly team mentioned the future of the 737 MAX variants. The 737 MAX 8-200 with additional, functional emergency exits is being looked into, alongside MAX 9, MAX 10 and MAX 7. The MAX 9 is currently being considered to be developed only for MSFS 2024, and the team waits for the MAX 10 and MAX 7 official certification by the FAA.

The current MAX 8 variant should also be accompanied by more possible cabin layouts, including the ones with 166, 178, 189 and 197 seats. The aircraft should receive a major overhaul of the exterior and interior models, too.
Unfortunately, the team hasn’t shared any more information about these plans, as the team is currently focusing on Service Pack 1 for the aircraft, which should be released in the near future. You can also read about the recent update for iFly’s 737 MAX in one of our articles here.
