The PMDG’s CEO, Robert Randazzo has taken to the PMDG Forums to share more information about the development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and reveal the release date for the long-anticipated Boeing 777-200F for the previous iteration of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Update for PMDG 737 Series
The PMDG team also updated the 737 Series for Microsoft Flight Simulator to version 3.00.0108, which only removes some unneeded things in the product. It is a micro update, especially for the Marketplace version of the aircraft, and that should bring it on par with the PMDG Store-bought aircraft.
Unfortunately, as it is a holiday weekend in the United States and this update should have been pushed on Thursday evening by Microsoft, the PMDG team anticipates its release the next week, on the fifth of December 2024.
Official Release of PMDG 777-200F
The PMDG’s second aircraft to the Triple Seven series is going to be the 777-200F, as we already know for a good amount of time. This variant is now going to be released, and that is going to happen the next Friday, the 6th of December 2024. The international release time is set quite opaquely to “GMT evening”.
The variant is going to come with a lot of unique features that are not found on other 777 versions. This includes accurately modelled controls and functions and the main deck lighting system. Pilots will also be able to change between manual or automatic main door operation. This is going to be fully synchronised with GSX.
The price of this aircraft variant is going to be announced upon its release.
The aircraft is also going to be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. PMDG plans to build an MSFS 2024-native version of the Boeing 777 Series. They want to do this to bring as many new features unique to the new simulator as possible.
As mentioned in the previous development update, Robert Randazzo wants to avoid large upgrade fees or upgrade fees in general. The upgrade fee might be necessary because of the MSFS Marketplace rules. PMDG already tried to upload their liveries for free and had to break the promises because MSFS Marketplace requires developers to set a minimum price of five dollars for each uploaded product.
Above all else, Robert closes this development post by mentioning that the PMDG team remains optimistic about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as test-flying their DC-6 was, according to Robert, a great experience, despite the flaws from incompatibility with the new simulator.
More information is going to be mentioned about the release of PMDG 777-200F next week, and you can find information about it when the time comes at FSNews.
