rkApps took to their Facebook page yesterday to announce the release of their latest product, FSRealistic+ for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The product is the MSFS2024-native version of their previous FSRealistic Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The product was teased for the platform in early October last year.
What’s New?
The new FSRealistic+ now comes with a native in-game panel and is now accessible from inside the simulator itself, allowing maximum immersion and ease of use. Now included is an advanced spatial audio system with full 3D spatial audio replacing basic stereo, positioning sound naturally around the cockpit. Effects such as wind, ground roll, turbulence, touchdown, and engine vibration feel more alive and directionally accurate.
Camera movement is also no longer limited to vertical motion, as FSR+ introduces realistic motion on all axes, delivering natural bumps, tilts, and other subtle movements that mimic real-world aircraft movements. Users also now have the ability to add their own custom sounds, enabling complete control, personalization, and creative freedom. FSR+’s seamless ChasePlane integration allows simmers to unlock advanced camera behavior and enhanced motion for users wanting deeper control.

There is also integration with rkApps Cloud, which allows users to automate their custom profile backups, easy profile sharing and importing, and a custom sounds cloud designed to empower audio designers to share, discover, and reuse sound effects, to get the maximum out of the new custom sound creation.
Differences between the 2020 and 2024 versions
The MSFS2020-native version, FSRealistic Pro, is also compatible with MSFS2024, albeit in a more limited capacity. The newer, MSFS2024-native version FSR+, as the name suggests, is only compatible with MSFS2024. The stark contrast between the two versions is the different requirements; FSR Pro does not need any pre-requisite software (except MSFS2020/2024, of course), but FSR+ does require Parallel 42’s ChasePlane camera control software for any sort of functionality to run due to its seamless integration.
FSR Pro still has a traditional external add-on style software, while FSR+ includes a native in-sim panel. Furthermore, VR for FSR+ is a limitation due in part to ChasePlane’s limited VR functionality in MSFS2024. FSR Pro still functions in MSFS2020’s VR mode, but might contain some limitations or issues. It still emphasizes compatibility with head-tracking devices while FSR+ does not.
