A2A Makes Statement on MSFS24 Development

The A2A Team has shared a development update about the current situation of their aircraft development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This information has been pushed by Lewis from the team via their Discord server recently.

To start things off, Lewis from the A2A Team mentioned that they have had access to the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Development Alpha for the past month. Based on their testing, the A2A’s only currently available aircraft, the Comanche 250, is functioning properly in the new simulator.

Some issues are present, though. However, core AccuSim, the developer’s custom flight dynamics engine, features are working properly in the new simulator. Updating the aircraft to the new Simulator SDK is going to be necessary.

As Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 added a lot of new features and new requirements for aircraft development, the Comanche 250 will have to be updated to be brought up to the new SDK standard. This is not, according to Lewis, an easy task, and the team is in the process of researching how much work will be needed to be done.

To close things up, Lewis from A2A mentioned that the next developer’s release is going to be the Aerostar 600, which is shaping up well. Unfortunately, its release is expected in the next year. In addition to the Aerostar 600, a new, unannounced aircraft should be released in 2025.

Until A2A updates the Comanche 250 to be compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 SDK, you will be able to enjoy it in the new simulator on day one without any issues, despite it being developed for Asobo’s previous platform.
