A2A Simulations has announced the development of the Accu-Sim Legacy RG550, a high-performance experimental kit-built aircraft scheduled for launch in Q2 2026. This marks the first time the developer is introducing an experimental composite aircraft into its Accu-Sim fleet, expanding beyond its traditionally certified general aviation lineup.

The Legacy RG550 is known within the experimental aviation community as a sleek and efficient design, offering high performance combined with builder-specific customization. As a kit-built aircraft, individual examples often differ based on construction choices, avionics installations, and finishing details, making the type particularly suited for detailed simulation modelling.
According to A2A Simulations, the aircraft is based on a real-world Legacy RG550 previously owned and flown by company founder Scott Gentile. This approach mirrors the development methodology used for earlier Accu-Sim aircraft such as the Comanche 250 and Aerostar 600, both of which relied heavily on direct operational reference and real aircraft data.
The Accu-Sim Legacy RG550 will be developed using A2A’s Accu-Sim 2.0 technology. Accu-Sim is A2A’s proprietary simulation framework designed to model aircraft behaviour with persistent systems, wear, maintenance, and ownership concepts beyond standard flight dynamics. The developer states that the aircraft will feature fully custom flight physics, bespoke sound design, and persistent ownership and wear modelling. Additional highlights include deep electrical and systems simulation, along with a highly detailed engine model designed to simulate internal combustion behaviour at an individual event level.

A2A also confirmed that the aircraft will include multiple avionics configurations. Among these is a fully custom Garmin G5 simulation, which the developer expects to retrofit into previously released aircraft within the Accu-Sim product line.
From a visual standpoint, the model will incorporate laser-scanned data and photogrammetry-assisted 3D development techniques. These methods have become increasingly common in modern aircraft add-on production, enabling higher geometric accuracy and surface detail.
With the Legacy RG550, A2A Simulations further expands its Accu-Sim lineup into the experimental aircraft category. The aircraft is currently planned for release in Q2 2026, although no pricing information has been provided at this time.
