Barelli Releases New Trapani Airport for MSFS

The Italian developer has created a new rendition of a smaller airport in Sicily, serving the city of Trapani. After the successful release of Bucharest for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Barelli comes back to their home country with their latest release for the Asobo’s platform.

Trapani-Birgi Airport (LICT) is a military air base and an international airport serving the city of Trapani, Sicily, Italy. It is one of the five civil airports in Sicily and before COVID, it served around 1 and a half million passengers annually.

Trapani Airport was opened in 1964 as a regional airport operating very few flights. During the 1990s, its importance to Italian aviation became less pronounced. During this time, only flights to Palermo and Rome were operated.

At the moment, the airport is mostly used for passenger low-cost carrier Ryanair, with many all-year and seasonal flights. People can travel to this airport from Bologna, Bergamo, Billund, Bratislava, London and even Riga and Porto.

Barelli didn’t state an official feature list of the airport on the official Simmarket website. Thus, we can only assume the features of this Trapani Airport scenery.

There seem to be custom 3D models, with detailed textures, 3D interiors and some clutter objects on the airside, such as stairs, buses and even cars.

The ground had received custom markings and pavement textures, enhancing the ground operations experience at the airport.
