The upcoming Service Pack 1 (SP1) for the iFly 737 MAX continues to take shape, and the latest previews shared on the Flight One Software Discord give a clearer picture of how development is moving forward. While SP1 was first outlined earlier this year with a wide list of planned improvements, the new work-in-progress images suggest steady progress across several key areas.
Screenshots Show Significant Progress
One of the highlights in the new previews is a detailed look at the aircraft’s exterior. A screenshot shows the APU bay fully opened, revealing new modelling work and additional details that were not present before. This follows earlier statements that the team planned to expand visual elements such as the wheel well and fuselage materials.

Another image shows further development of the new Electronic Flight Bag. The EFB has been one of the most anticipated features for SP1, as it aims to introduce a more contemporary workflow for virtual pilots.
Another preview shows what appears to be an operational weather radar display. While still work in progress, it suggests ongoing efforts to enhance flightdeck functionality beyond the initial list of changes, which included adjustments to LNAV and general system refinements.

SP1 as the Last Update For MSFS 2020
These updates arrive as the developer continues preparing SP1, which is planned as the final major update supporting MSFS 2020 before development shifts fully toward MSFS 2024. The team has already stated that future aircraft in the MAX series (such as the MAX9) will be developed natively for the newer platform.
For now, SP1 remains the primary focus, and the new images indicate that several of the planned enhancements are moving forward. As development continues, more previews are expected to follow.
