IndiaFoxtEcho Showcases The F-16A Falcon For Microsoft Flight Simulator

IndiaFoxtEcho has taken to Discord to showcase the development of the F-16A Falcon for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This project is a collaboration between IndiaFoxtEcho and Heatblur Simulations. This latest joint effort between both developers aims to bring a high quality military aircraft to the simulator.

F-16A Falcon 3D Modelling

One of the main highlights of the announcement was the detailed external and internal 3D modelling. From the teaser pictures, we can see the details that the Heatblur team has put into modelling the real-life counterpart.

Moreover, the pictures provide the current progress of the modeling. Key areas that were showcased in the photos are the landing gear struts, tires, and internal cockpit modelling with notable areas being the side pedestal panel. This model was exclusively crafted with a new library of laser and photogrammetry scanning data. We can see that the effort invested in these technologies has paid off, as the renderings showcase an aircraft that is both visually stunning and true to its real-world counterpart.

Why The F-16A Falcon And Not The F-16C

Alongside the previews of the F-16A, IndiaFoxtEcho has also provided us with insights into why it chose to develop the F-16A Falcon first. The first reason being a notable absence of high-quality F-16A Falcon in the simulator available in the market for many years. Hence, this aircraft would provide a unique opportunity to bring this iconic aircraft back to virtual skies. Moreover, the F-16A Falcon has has simpler avionics systems compared to the F-16C. Hence, aligning the aircraft better with the capability of MSFS and as such allowing for a more agile development process.

Although the F-16A Falcon was developed first, we should not rule out the development of the F-16C. IndiaFoxtEcho has hinted at the development of the F-16C granted that its resources allow for it, but there was no further information given on this.

Finally, as for the release date, there has been no confirmation from IndiaFoxtEcho on an exact date that we could expect this aeroplane to be available for sale. The developers, however, will continue updating the community on the development in the next few weeks.
