Just Flight has posted on its website what the developer describes as the “final text-based development update” for its upcoming Fokker F70 Professional and F100 Professional aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The text outlines progress on aircraft systems, cockpit functionality, and cabin features.
Just Flight, a UK-based developer, is well known for producing high-quality study-level aircraft, with a portfolio in Microsoft Flight Simulator that already includes an interesting array of European-built regional jets such as the BAe 146, Avro RJ (which just received an update this week) and Fokker F28 Fellowship. The F70 and F100 extend this line-up, building on the legacy of the F28 and embodying Fokker’s ultimate vision of a modern regional jet.

Glass Cockpit and Avionics
The Fokker 100 and its smaller variant, the Fokker 70, marked a turning point in regional aviation during the 1990s, being among the first in their class to feature a digital EFIS “glass” cockpit with Rockwell Collins DU-1000 CRT displays. This cutting-edge cockpit environment bridged the gap between analogue instruments and the digital era—an atmosphere faithfully recreated by Just Flight.

A key feature highlighted in this development update is the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), now fully implemented. It generates Traffic Advisories and Resolution Advisories, with nearby traffic displayed on the EFIS Navigation Display. Resolution Advisories also trigger pitch guidance on the PFD, accompanied by aural alerts. The TCAS panel itself has been modelled to match the unit fitted to the developer’s reference aircraft.
The weather radar is also fully functional. Controlled from the EFIS and radar panels, it provides a precipitation display on the ND using the familiar green-to-red colour scale.
Analog Touches and EFB
In contrast with the modern EFIS and avionics described earlier, the development update also turns to more traditional cockpit elements. The speed flipchart, popular from previous Just Flight releases, provides takeoff and landing speeds and can either auto-set based on weight or be flipped manually. Paper checklists return as well, placed on the yoke chart holder with a dedicated reading light, and players can import custom documents.

Just Flight’s EFB has received a redesigned black model with wall- and window-mount variants. It includes a wide range of configuration options such as IRS alignment speed, callout toggles, and pilot model visibility. The development update also notes that each livery will come with accurate real-world equipment configurations, such as taxi lights, logo lights, and cockpit units of measurement.
“Welcome Aboard”
Just Flight describes the cabin simulation as “very complete.” It now includes interactive features such as cockpit-to-cabin and cabin-to-cabin calls, chimes, call lights, and fully functional cabin lighting controls in the galley. A digital music player is also present on the galley wall, now with expanded functionality, including cabin announcements such as boarding, safety briefings, or seatbelt reminders, which can be triggered either manually or via the Auto Cabin Crew system.

What’s Next?
Development is now focused on the Automatic Flight Control and Augmentation System (AFCAS), Autothrottle System (ATS), and Flight Management System (FMS). These interconnected systems form the core of the aircraft, and Just Flight reports that one developer is dedicated full-time to refining them. The team continues to consult real-world pilots to ensure accuracy, including in areas not fully covered by official documentation.
Work is also ongoing on the sound set, which now includes cabin announcements and pilot callouts. In the words of the developer, the sound set is “shaping up to be one of our finest sound packages yet.”
First announced in January 2023, Just Flight’s F70/F100 project for Microsoft Flight Simulator has now reached the stage where pre-release coverage is imminent. Video content is expected to follow in the run-up to release, highlighting progress across systems, cockpit functionality, and cabin features. FSNews will continue to keep readers informed as new material is shared.
