LevelUp has announced the 737NG Series V2 via their Discord, a total top-down visual and audio revamp for X-Plane 11 and 12. It builds off of their previous V1 release of the 737NG, but improves on many core parts of the aircraft and add-on.
737NG V2 Visual Updates
Starting with the visuals, the team have improved the 3D modelling and textures across the entire aircraft. V2 of the 737NG has been made to take better advantage of X-Plane 12’s new rendering capabilities. They have also doubled the polygonal resolution for many external features of the model, such as the fuselage and engine cowlings.

The improvement to the 3D model is also accompanied by new 8K textures for the fuselage and tail, bringing an overall better consistency in the textures. Turning to the cabin, LevelUp have paid the same attention to it as much as the external model. It has been completely refreshed with new modelling and 8K texturing.
737NG V2 Updated Sounds
LevelUp have significantly revamped the sounds for the 737NG Series to make use of FMOD 2.0. Joshua, from LevelUp, made these improvements which bring new tools that allow for better CPU performance. They also noted X-Plane 12’s new loading method which allows for a greater number of sounds that can be played at once, a limit found in X-Plane 11.

Joshua has also brought sounds he recorded himself into the simulator, with more detail all around. The CFM56 engine sounds have been given their own sound set in the interior, along with improved exterior sounds. One improvement, shared in a previous update in their discord, is the buzzsaw sound on spool up of the CFM56 engines.
At the moment there is no release date for the 737NG V2, however, V2 will be released in two stages. The first stage brings the new visuals and sounds to the aircraft, while the second stage will bring a revamped cockpit model and textures. They hope to have the first stage out within the fourth quarter of this year, meaning anytime from October to the end of the year.

While LevelUp works towards a release of V2 for their 737NG Series, this newer version also sets up the team for the MAX series of the 737. It gives LevelUp a good basis for the MAX series development. You can read up on previous updates from LevelUp here on FSNews.
