A new scenery published by Orbx for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 is now available. Independent developer for Orbx, Massimiliano Addante, is responsible for this rendition of an icon in America’s urban airports. Detroit Coleman A. Young Airport, once the most important in the city, comes to MSFS with a focus on visual fidelity and performance of this historic landmark of Detroit aviation.

About this Airport

Coleman A. Young Airport was previously known as Detroit City Airport due to its proximity of just a couple of miles to downtown Detroit. Opened in 1927, it was, for the longest time, the city’s largest airport for commercial passengers. The airport is now used for general aviation and business jet operations since the departure of the last commercial operator in 2000.

The developer of this airport wanted to include in his scenery of this airport the classic feeling of Coleman A. Young Airport. All around the airport, you can find custom-made historic buildings like the historic terminal building, Old Executive Terminal, and Chrysler Building facility. The scenery aims for quality and performance with an accurate representation of the airport layout and objects scattered around the area.
