PMDG’s Robert Randazzo has taken to the developer’s forums to reveal the status of all of its product lineup and their upcoming updates. The 737-900, -800, -700, and -600 were all talked about in the update, with the -900’s release window being set for this week. Some general visual upgrades for all 737s and an update on the status of the DC-6 were also mentioned in the update.
PMDG 737 Lineup
Rob opened the post by talking about the 737-900, mentioning that “[the] product is ready for release, and will be made available… [this] week.” The MSFS Marketplace version of the aircraft and its livery pack have already been sent to Asobo for processing and are expected to be available shortly after the official release on PMDG’s website.

Along with the 739, the 737-800 will be receiving an update next week that features numerous improvements and changes. Among the fixes for this update is a micro-stutter that was being recognized by the simulator as a “pause/unpause” event that caused issues with virtual airline and VATSIM users.
The 737-600 is nearly ready for release, with Rob’s wording suggesting that it will be out before February 14th. The 737-700 is not as far along as the other two variants, though it’s likely to enter beta testing by mid-February. If beta testing goes well, Rob anticipates this variant to be ready for release at the end of February or shortly thereafter.

Lastly for the 737 family is an exterior model upgrade that PMDG is working on. This upgrade “includes a significant refresh/update of the model geometry [and] animations.” Robert states that these changes will be implemented over time and that users will be able to see the changes starting from the next update to the 737-800.
Regarding release windows, Robert remarks that they will only be met if there are no unforeseen circumstances. The 737-900 and -600 were internally marked for release within January, but last-minute bug finds pushed the release of both of these products back. With the release of the 737-900 being set for the 29th of January, one of PMDG’s vendors was cyberattacked just the day before, which meant that the release of the aircraft had to be pushed back yet again.
The PMDG DC-6
An update is in the works for the PMDG DC-6 to make it officially compatible with MSFS 2024. The aircraft’s model was reconfigured to work with the 2024 SDK, which required PMDG to wait for a Sim Update. While waiting for the Sim Update, PMDG’s modelers were put to work on the 737, meaning that work on the DC-6 update is now on hold. Robert expects development on the DC-6 to continue once the 737 has been fully released. The DC-6 for MSFS 2020 has also been moved over to the PMDG Operations Center 3.0.
