AOA Simulations took to their Facebook page to share an update on their upcoming rendition of the T-6A Texan II. The developer, known for their military addons on the X-Plane platform, vowed that their upcoming T-6A Texan II will be a study-level rendition.
In addition to an announcement detailing the release of the aircraft, the post also features a few pictures of the upcoming add-on.

Some of the pictures also depict the cockpit of the T-6A. Since this is the “A” variant of the T-6, it does not feature a HUD (Heads Up Display) and also uses older-style LCDs.

Furthermore, the developer uploaded a short clip showcasing the amazing roar of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-68 turboprop engine. Have a listen by clicking on the hyperlink!

The team at AOA hinted at a potential release this November for the X-Plane 11 version of the T-6A. They have not, however, communicated any dates for the X-Plane 12 version. The developer stated that the latter version “will be released after the end of the early access period”. Moreover, the X-Plane 12 version will be a free upgrade to any X-Plane 11 customers of the aircraft. As of today, the developer has not commented on the pricing of the add-on.
The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II is a single-engine trainer aircraft. Powered by the highly popular Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop engine, the T-6A Texan II is derived from the Swiss-manufactured Pilatus PC-9 aircraft. The T-6A can climb up to an altitude of 31,000 ft and can sustain loads of up to +7g and -3.5g. Subsequently, this makes the aircraft suitable for combat manoeuvre training. Current operators of this aircraft type include the US Air Force, the US Navy, and the Israeli Air Force.
